Maria: Experience Project
So what’s it like to do a fine art nude photo shoot with one of the world’s leading photographers?
Exceptional Faces-represented model Maria shared her thoughts of shooting with renowned photographer David Allio on www.experienceproject.com, which promotes itself as "one of the world’s largest collections of life experiences and stories shared by everyday people."
Maria wrote in her diary on ExperienceProject.com: "I have worked with some truly awesome photographers and I have met some people who are now dear friends. As far as a story I have many but one of the best shoots I have done would had to have been just this weekend. I shot with a wonderful guy/photographer from Hawaii named David Allio.
"It was a rainy nasty Monday so the shoot we had actually planned was supposed to be outside was moved into a beautiful lake house. My husband and I showed up a few minutes late because of the terrible travel conditions. David met us and immediately made not only myself but my husband feel right at home.
"We started out with some lingerie and kinda eased into the shoot very comfortable and laid back. David continued to make us feel very welcome. I have shot with David before and this time was just as before. He is very easy going, hilarious, but also a true gentleman and very professional. He always makes me feel very special even though I know he has shot with models that would put me to shame.
"We shot some images of me wearing lingerie and then some glamour images in a beautiful entrance way with me wearing a corset and then also an 1800's style dress. We then moved to David’s specialty – fine art nudes. David makes me feel so comfortable that I often times forget that I’m nude. We shot some images of me lying on this beautiful leather couch and then he shot a series of me playing in a big glass window. I just loooove this series. The final series we did was of me in a wet wife beater outside on the deck."

David Allio is experiencing his 36th year as a professional motorsports and model photographer. He has office or studio space in Kauai HI, Las Vegas NV, Atlanta, and Upstate SC. He has been named the Exceptional Faces Photographer of the Year three times – in 2009, 2003 and 1999. His work is viewable at www.davidallio.com.
"Maria and I were connected through Earl Fannin, her agent at Exceptional Faces, a full-service model promotional agency in Atlanta," Allio said. "I am pleased that Maria has received this special recognition for sharing her experiences. Maria claims that she has only been modeling since turning 40 years old. But her skills, especially as a fine art nude figure model, represent greater experience. She is a wonder of raw talent.
"Within the past year, Exceptional Faces has been responsible for connecting me with some of the very best models for my projects," Allio continued. "The results: EF models continue to receive well-deserved special recognitions as credited creative collaborators and featured subjects in outstanding works."
Late in 2009, Allio collaborated with Exceptional Faces model Jecika, a professional figure model and trained artist. Jecika was featured in a winning pictorial selected for showing in a critically acclaimed art exhibition in the first quarter 2010 in Vienna, Austria. One image from that art exhibition also led to Jecika's selection as a featured model in an upcoming art book to be published in Australia.
